Bounty of Oregon Celebrations
Festivals, Special Menus, Artisan Products, Getaway Packages
(OREGON) – Oregon takes two full months to celebrate its bounty
– the prize and produce of its fields, orchards, vineyards, ocean,
and culinary artisans. October and November are the official
months for the Oregon Bounty Celebration, and the state offers
almost too many opportunities for fun and feast-ables to list.
The event takes the whole idea of agri-tourism to another level,
offering culinary tourism packages meshed with unique lodging
and scenery. Promotions for the event urge you to: sample the
latest vintages and artisan products at local wineries; take
part in harvest festivals around the state; dine at fine restaurants
featuring distinctive Oregon Bounty menu items and meals; enjoy
one-of-a-kind overnight stays; and, meet the growers, producers,
chefs, winemakers and brewmasters who make it all happen.
They have even put together a booklet of recipes for you to
enjoy with your friends and family: http://www.traveloregon.com/pdfs/oregon_bounty_recipes_2006.pdf
Last year more than 60 Oregon wineries, nearly 75 lodging establishments
and 70 restaurants were involved in Oregon Bounty, featuring
Oregon’s wines, cheeses, hazelnuts and pears. This year, more
producers and purveyors are on board. Oregon Bounty happens throughout
the state—eastern, central, and southern Oregon, the Columbia
River Gorge, Mt. Hood territory, the Willamette Valley and the
coast.
Wineries in all of the state’s wine growing regions will feature
complimentary samplings of Oregon products in their tasting rooms
Special Oregon Bounty packages, rates and activities are available
at a variety of lodging establishments, from sleek hotels in
downtown Portland to rustic and romantic wine country inns. Restaurants
throughout the state will feature Oregon Bounty products on their
menus and during special events. Oregon Bounty retail partners
will also feature in-store specials and tastings of the featured
products.
